1st CHINESE NEW YEAR

18 Feb 2007 marks the first CNY for Ah boy.. As ah boy & I r still doing confinement.. v r prohibited fr living our hse to go hse-visiting... It’s gd for me n hb as v don nid give angbaos... Yet my ah boy miss out some angbaos collections too.. But our relatives r kind enuff to still give us angbaos even v r not present at the relatives’ hse. So for my mum’s relatives, I rec’d 3 sets of angbao ea... ah boy, vic and myself... Sound so cool rite... rot at hm and still can collect angbao; married wif kids, still got angbao for me.. haha... C how happy is ah boy wif the angbaos:

Oppss... he find the angbaos collection too little... so he crying for more...

DAY 2

Photo Professionally Taken @ Day 2.

Doesnt ah boy look so cute? He can smile at the camera on day 2. Amazing hor? I wonder how the photographers tease him to smile... After photo-taking, he fall back asleep. In fact, he slp most of the time in the hospital, the rest of the time are spent crying (for milk), feeding, shitting. So to spot him smile is a very difficult task at that time. Occassionally open his small eyes...

Vic learning how to carry ah boy and feeding him... C how small is he as compared to our arm, can easily carried him wif one hand. On day of discharge, ah boy weight dropped... Tink ard 2.8kg.. We din under-feed him at hospital.. but don noe y weight drop. Maybe at birth measurement, he was cover wif my blood? or The umbilical cord (Cut to a shorter length wen dried)?

AT THE HOSPITAL ON DAY 1

DAY 1

Ah boy is so comfortable in my womb tt he refused to come out at EDD. Gynae advised that my water bag level is dropping, so v chose to induce the next day. Early morning I report at clinic for induction. After lunch, my contraction started and I was already tossing uncomfortably on the bed. Mid- afternn, I was sent to labour ward for gynae to break my water-bag. And wen I was told that my cervix was opened at 3cm, I cried for pain-relief... Imagine suffering from contraction since 12pm, and cervix only open 0.5cm... In order to deliver baby, the cervix nid open at least 9cm, so I nid 6cm more to go.. and it means I will be tortured in pain for more hours if I don’t take any relief... I was also impatient and I don wish my labour to last for 24hrs or more... So I took EPIDURAL... And to my surprise, my cervix opened up in less dan an hr. Perhaps the epi made me relaxed, thus cervix open faster... But then the epi make me feel painless, tt I don have the urge to push even though the cervix is big enough. End up I took 2 hrs to finish pushing ah boy out... Of coz I rest & watch TV cartoon ard 1 hr in btwn... it really so difficult to push... midwives and gynae kept saying I pushing in my facial expression, and not really pushing correctly... Wen they said they could c the hair, ah! I was gtg more excited and try my best to push harder. Coz the longer I take, ah boy will lack oxygen and I don wan cesarean. I like the feeling wen ah boy slip out of my body.. it feels such a relief.. The action is very fast but shiok... Like I managed to squeeze out a BIG shit in my buttock. Haha... After ah boy is out, Vic started to get busy… busy wif his camera.. taking pic of his lovely son... Me... I was too exhausted and laid back while gynae push out my placenta and stitch back my wound. Ah boy was given some oxygen 1st, then clean up a bit. He was taken out of the ward to take height and weight measurement. Den he was brought back to the room to me. Mid wife wanted to ensure I’m alright by asking me wat is ah-boy gender (showing me his birdie) and let me hug ah boy... Oh he so tiny... and fr that time onward, I become a MUMMY!!!
